Faculty of Civil and Geodetic Engineering

The University of Ljubljana is a centre of excellence for the Balkans with extensive expertise in water resources management. It is deeply involved in issues of transnational cooperation and is at the forefront of forming environmental policy in the Region. With its more than 56,000 undergraduate and post-graduate students, it ranks among the biggest universities in the world. A total of 22 faculties, 3 academies of art and 1 university college employ approx. 3500 teaching and research staff, assisted by nearly 900 technical and administrative staff.

The Faculty of Civil and Geodetic Engineering of the University of Ljubljana consists of two departments: Department of Civil Engineering and Department of Geodetic Engineering. The teaching, research and professional work is being carried out in teaching/research units of both departments. It employs 96 full-time staff, 49 of them are teachers (10 full professors, 16 associate professors, 18 assistant professors, 4 lecturers and 1 teacher of physical education), 26 lecturing assistants, 5 teaching assistants, 2 professional co-workers and 14 laboratory assistants.

The Faculty of Civil and Geodetic Engineering has bilateral agreements with 15 universities worldwide. The Faculty is responsible for curricula in civil engineering, geodetic engineering and a new curriculum in water and municipal engineering dealing with essential questions of environmental engineering, including water management and waste management.
