Assessing the quality of online courses from the students’ perspective

A bibliographic record and short editorial reading note for a paper included in the historical EDUCATE collection.

Original publication authors

Andria Young; Chari Norgard

What this paper examines

Young and Norgard develop and use a student survey to examine the quality of online course delivery. Their study considers interactions with teachers and classmates, consistency of course design, technical support and flexibility. In the institution studied, students were broadly positive about interaction and content, while more consistent structures and extended support hours remained areas for improvement.

A question to take into course design

Can students locate the same kinds of resources in the same place across every module, and obtain help when they actually study?

Why it belongs in the water programme archive
