What this paper examines
Cantoni, Cellario and Porta compare traditional learning models with emerging e-learning approaches from technological and user perspectives. The paper gives particular attention to visual presentation, multimedia and interaction. It discusses perceptive interfaces and multidimensional metaphors as possible directions for learning systems. These are historical design proposals to evaluate in context, rather than evidence that any visually elaborate interface improves learning.
